That which was from the start,
On which we all have heard;
Seen through eyes of the heart,
Touched by the Holy Word.
Touched with our hands,
About the Word of Life;
Spoken by His commands,
Through the toils and strife.
I saw to testify,
Eternal life proclaimed;
And I will not deny,
Nor ever be ashamed.
What we have seen and heard,
We proclaim onto you;
The Gospel is the Word,
That I know that is true.
Many have fellowship,
With the Father and Son;
But through darkness they trip,
For the sins that are done.
I am writing these things,
So, the joy be complete;
The salvation it brings,
Through living in this feat.
For the message we heard,
The same as we proclaim;
Comes from the Holy Word,
No darkness cannot claim.
Because the Lord is light,
In the light we can walk;
Which gives us the insight,
Expressing when we talk.
If we have fellowship,
While we walk in the dark;
Just lies come from the lip,
Wherever we embark.
If we walk in the light,
We help our brother;
We are righteously bright,
To share with each other.
If we confess all sin,
God is faithful and just;
Forgive and cleanse within,
His Spirit will block lust.
