Etiquette
Some people provoke the very worst
In both loved ones and friends
Using rancor and vindictiveness
Not caring how it offends. offends.
They spark such mental anguish
Whether consciously or not
And rarely seem to miss a chance
To strike when the iron is hot.
They are quick to mock and criticize
Often in a subtle way
And attack convictions and beliefs
As if that were okay.
And as they push those buttons
They likely will poke fun
Then hasten to feign innocence
Once the damage has been done.
They flaunt their rude behavior
And therefore, have a knack
For bringing out our worst because
True etiquette they lack.
