The Backyard Of My Life

Forty Thieves

Forty thieves take down fort Knox
A secret code in the vault in a box
The first thief said to the second thief there
Place the dynamite everywhere
Cut all the phone lines drill through the wall
Break down the defenses like a wrecking ball
Number three said to four and five
The law wont ever take me alive
Ill steal the money and live the dream
Keep myself to myself you'll never hear me scream
Seven six and number nine said they they would all be fine
If eight and ten never meet again
Somewhere later down the line

Forty thieves rush past the guards
It all falls down like a house of cards
When eleven and twelve say to number thirteen
You only got two hands so steal in between
Everyone scrabbles for a piece of the cake
Fourteen and fifteen make a huge mistake
Sixteen and seventeen were keeping an eye
While nineteen and twenty found an alibi
Twenty one twenty two twenty three twenty four
Where with twenty five as they blew down the door
Twenty six and sweet twenty seven
Knew they'd never get to heaven
While twenty eight was nervous on the edge

Forty thieves have the run of the mill
Twenty nine and thirty are standing still
Thirty one and thirty two
Meet thirty three at the zoo
With a big brown bag sold to thirty four
They try to sell it on for more
But thirty five and thirty six
Have had enough of all these tricks
So thirty seven and thirty eight
Smuggle the jewels past the gate
To thief thirty nine and his old friend forty
Its number eighteen who escapes with the glory
