Poetic-Verses

THE GOOD NURSE

My doleful mother sat and wept
Bemoaning all life gave
She said, “he'll take this drugs; as well,
A little prayer will help”.

‘My surest comfort', mummy said
‘Is this boy while I weep
Nor else my comforts go no where'
‘Joy's mother, it will not!'

“He'll visit me to get spare drugs”
Although I'd throwaway
‘Where are the drugs she gave to you?
Hadn't money to pay'.

No, not the electrotherapy
If still you love your boy!
It is a test machine from school
Made by Japanese boys!

I'm short of words, she spoke again
Just like my second mum
The other nurse did make me weep
Saying I'm a bad boy.

“This boy needs not be in that hall
That's like for prisoners made
Amenity you must secure
To safe his future head.”

Two worlds to come to compromise?
‘Nurse I won't take that drug!'
“Don't struggle – know I still love you?
Five minutes, I'm asleep.”

Two worlds to come to compromise?
Two eggs? sherries in plate!
Psychologist but spurned my fears
“Don't worry mum, he'll sleep.”

The soup was watery, yes it was
“I suggest that he takes
The food the other canteen serves
Though it is at some cost.”

The semesters were nearly gone
And the exams had been through
But Nurse Blessing did stand by me
Securing every hope.
