'' Regret ''
The love of your life,
Is your Husband or Wife,
For that person you claim you care,
A better life beckons,
Is, what one reckons,
So, you start to look elsewhere.
You look for excuses,
So, your guilt reduces,
But conscience takes over your mind,
You hide the shame,
By passing the blame,
To reality you pretend you are blind.
While they're in tatters,
You're all that matters,
Being desirable gives you a boost,
By being uncouth,
You're avoiding the truth,
Eventually it will come home to roost.
The life you're living,
Becomes unforgiving,
It's hard when you're living a lie,
You can't take the blows,
Soon everyone knows,
That's when you'll wish you could die.
To those you've hurt,
They then become curt,
You try to forget what is true,
Soon you're falling apart,
When deep in your heart,
You know the problem is you.
Soon they move on,
All you had is gone,
Your infidelity they will never forget,
Forgiveness? There's none,
Your downfall's begun,
All you feel now is,
' Regret '
