Poetic-Verses

'' As The Earth They Devour ''

I woke up one day,
The water had gone,
Was this foul play,
Or the Earth overdrawn.

The seas weren't there,
They'd all disappeared,
I felt such despair,
It's frightening and weird.

All life within,
The fish and crustaceans,
Were no longer in,
They'd lost their foundations.

All that we'd taken,
Over thousands of years,
Had left them forsaken,
It's we who'd shed tears.

Without any controls,
We've taken not given,
We've created large holes,
As further we've driven.

Those chasms we produced,
Have turned into traps,
Our time here's reduced,
As they now collapse.

The damage we've done,
Has come to fruition,
For the lies we have spun,
We show no contrition.

Frightened and deflated,
In a huddle we cower,
Our intelligence over-rated,
