What's In A Name 2

There's a little village in Austria
Which had an unwilling fame
Because of the English spelling
Of that place's ancient name.
Then along came mass tourism,
And it became the place to go
As Wikepedia, and the Internet
Went and let the world know.

Location signs were stolen
Almost as soon as being made.
By enthusiastic members
Of that nuisance tourist trade.
They were blaming the British
Which seemed a bit unfair
Didn't they realise English
Is spoken almost everywhere.

 It was pronounced differently
But the spelling was the same:
Modesty won't allow me to
Reveal that village's name.
I know it's a nuisance
But really it must pay
As Tourists took selfies
Almost every single day.

In this modern world,
Thanks to the smart phone.
No place in this day and age
Can evermore be alone.
And the residents came to realise
It wasnt just an idle rumour
About those pernicous Brits
And their ribald sense of humour

So they had a village referendum
And as a result of that vote,
Changed it just slightly
To one of lesser note.
And that little Austrian village
Now lives with the fame
Of having democratically voted
To go and change its name
