High sChooL dAzE
I was Talking and Relating to
My--PRETTY
Grand-daughter now in the Tenth-Grade
And soooon TO turn----SWEETER---********FIFTEEN
Of what this old GRAMPS
Knows of the fun and excitements and worries stresses
Ups and downs--and--the--Pressures
Of--Growing up in----------------HIGH-SCHOOL
And the---------------------------------------------------PEER--PRESSURES
That she must rise above and --TO--THINE--- OWNSELF-BE-TRUE
In taking the---------------------------------------------HIGHER--GOD-ROAD--
And not the Fun and wrong RoAD--with, bad-Vices
HIGH-SCHOOL
********S---C---E---N---E
I told her many ********times
Especially in HIGH-SCHOOL
COOL, Peer--Pressures
TIMES, all the kids are trying their
Best and competing,
And each other trying
To--IMPRESS---SHOW--OFF--and
Over--********SHINEs
I told her in HIGH-SCHOOL
I didn't fit in and refused to be
******************CoooooooooooooooooooooL
I never Drank any akcohol
Smoked any Cigarette
Or used any a DRUG
And even up to now at--SIXTY--TWO
I follow--my--Same old same
Old---SOBRIETY--and---GOLDEN-OLDEN
CLEAN--^*******RULE
I told her its hard not to be
Cooooool
And fit right in
And just watch --EVERYONE-- having son much JOY
HAPPINESS GLEE and **************FUN-FUN-FUN-FUN
And to just be
TRUE-TO-YOURSELF
And be--Boring all ALone and Lonely
With
HIGH-SCHOOL-DAZE
********************************************FUN-OF-NONE
Most folks now they are older
They look back to HIGH-SCHOOL
Cooool-***************-DAZE
And many have regrets and know they we're young,
and stupid and made the wrong--selfish-stupid- choices and
Have Regrets in MANY-many-MANY------------------------------
WAYS
Maybe I missed out on--ALL
The
Party-PARTY-Party
Fun
IN---ALL-------OF
My life
Living and ********LOVE
But this exact and fact
MOMENT--in--TIME
All--my--Sacrifices
S-t-a-y-I-n-g-----far----- away
From--Bad--VICES
Was--worthThe -WHILE
When I'm speaking from HEART to my
Grand-daughter and saw her--SMILE
And she knows to
PRAY--and--trust in GOD in the Holy Heavens
