A man-made covenant,
If it be confirmed;
Is never permanent,
Never has been long termed.
Promises that were made,
To generations ago;
For offspring not betrayed,
Of what the Lord will show.
For the Law in which came,
Covenant ratified;
That the Lord did proclaim,
When Christ was crucified.
Inheritance by Law,
No longer by promise;
In forgiving your flaw,
Under legal premise.
Because of transgression,
For the toll at the bridge;
Is paid by confession,
Letting you cross the ridge.
You must have a counsel,
Mediator by trade;
Who will give you console,
While rendering aid.
If a law is given,
That is giving you life;
Preparing for Heaven,
While enduring strife.
Scripture is a captive,
Imprisoned under sin;
But faith is attractive,
In Christ to cleanse within.
Faith in Christ you believe,
And your faith has revealed;
Salvation you receive,
That is being unsealed.
For neither Greek nor Jew,
And neither slave nor free;
Assured to be rescued,
If humbled on your knee.
