Moses, His servant is dead,
And the people must prepare;
To go where they will be fed,
Milk and honey, they will share.
Crossing the Jordan River,
To the land God has given;
That the Lord did deliver,
From Egypt they were driven.
God gave every place,
Where the sole of their foot trod;
Expecting you to embrace,
Able to honor and laud.
Their land from the wilderness,
Extending to the great sea;
To the Euphrates to bless,
And for living peacefully.
No one to stand against you,
For as long as you shall live;
As long as you remain true,
The past the Lord will forgive.
God will not leave or forsake,
Always remain by your side;
His covenant He will not break,
As long as you will abide.
Be courageous and be strong,
As you distribute the land;
Inheritance does belong,
As you abide His command.
Be strong and of good courage,
As you carefully observe;
One another encourage,
Unto the Lord that you serve.
Moses had commanded you,
Turn not to the left or right;
Unto your Lord remain true,
While preparing to fight.
The Law Book must not depart,
From your mouth you must recite;
Imbed them into your heart,
For their wisdom and insight.
Fear not or be discouraged,
For the Lord will be with you;
Able to be encouraged,
By the Word that you construe.
