His Story

His stories open doors of  bygone days
With a book spelled with many frays
Such is the nature of the golden ways
Searching out the path where silver lays

Homesteaders were his story door
Taking up the land a surreal lore
All one could grab a real score
Closing the path of another store

Not too many doors are opened this way
His story depends upon the weight of glory days
With a citation from the elders' book
Many years flashes a  path he walked and took

By the forefather's kin nor secrets within
For us now is surely again
A way for us to visit the past from here
To keep them in our hearts and hold them,
