Dear Pumpkin

Dear Pumpkin

The morning we left for the Vet we did not know
That I would return without you in my arms

When we left home we didn't know . . .
That dinner that night would have only one plate
Or that I would watch Mitze's questioning eyes
Seemingly to ask ''Where's Pumpkin Mom?''

My 'Fat Cat'
You are so missed

When I look at this picture it is if I could turn
To find you sleeping on the rug just in back of me
Your favorite hangout when we were in the office

Everywhere that had become home for us
Found you somewhere to raise your chin for a scratch
To let me know you were content in our new surroundings
As long as Mitze was also close by and I would stop to chat

I remember the Christmas Eve you came into my heart
I had just lost another beloved companion to Rainbow's Bridge

Your carrier was opened and you strutted out putting the dog
That thought he was so tough to soon learn who was boss

You lived with me through the good times and the bad
My heart weeps to find you now gone from my sight

My one comfort is that you are surrounded
By love and beauty as you wait in peace

I will love you forever my Dearest Pumpkin

Remember to watch for Daddy
He is just beyond Heaven's gate

Mommy

Thank you my dear friend Donna
(Gold Pen Ghost)
For the beautiful picture of Pumpkin
and the video of
The Legend of Rainbow Bridge

I leave this in tribute and love to Pumpkin
And to anyone who has a beloved pet waiting
Within a place that is called Rainbow Bridge
