Peace to Despair
Stillness is brief, just a moment of relief
Take heed to self-righteous speed.
Know the action of each deed.
Do we see the sorrow of greed?
Do we hear the cries of need?
A simple seed we plant, so do we grow
A compassionate plant?
It must not chant in hopeless despair
We must guide our hands in love's repair
What we sow we reap, and what we reap
Will speak to the strong and to the meek.
Do we see what we are making In a world of giving and taking?
Let the heartbeat of mankind sing in the rhythm of care
In this world, we learn to bring peace to despair...
