Will I wage war with politics
About who is wrong or right?
No, I'd rather pray for mercy`
For those who want to fight.
Because our country is in turmoil...
It's divided at all ends.
Family fights with family
And friends disagree with friends.
The Republicans are quick to quote
All Democrats are mad.
The Dems, in turn, accuse the Reps
Of everything that's bad.
The black race blames the white race...
The white race shifts the blame.
All are wrong but no one sees
Their bickering's insane.
Right or wrong on either side
Seems not to really matter.
They just want to keep the fight highpitched
Until all reasoning will shatter.
It's also gender against gender...
The female takes on the male.
It seems the urge for power
Is taken to a different scale.
The Me-Too movement, meant to heal,
By speaking out's become
A finger-pointing sham of sorts...
Makes each mom fear for her son.
An elected Supreme Court Justice
Found guilty without proof...
This has never been the American way...
But no one admits the goof.
Some paint the US President
As an Adoph Hitler clone...
But he hasn't killed a single soul...
So who in Hell has brought this on?
This picture of him really has
No merit or no basis.
He's seen as such a lothsome creature...
A dictator and a racist.
Shame, oh shame, America...
How could you be so vile?
He's an elected servant meant to serve...
Yet you keep cramping his style.
You won't admit the good he's done...
You're too busy finding fault.
You don't realize what you have done,
Has brought progress to a halt.
We did not elect a pastor...
Or a man of spotless speech.
Yes, his faults are always put out there
And some folks expound on each.
This country needs a healing
That only God can bring.
And, shame , oh shame, America
If you don't let Mercy heal this thing.
