Some churchgoers in this modern age
Are setting a dangerous trend
Thinking Scripture alone is not enough
As some of them contend.
Instead, they're looking for a sign
Something better felt than told
And suggest that it cannot be found
By following the paths of old.
Thus, setting aside tradition
In favor of the new
They set an unwise precedent
And welcome its debut.
Soon morphing into a social club
Where better felt than told
Becomes the norm when they decide
To leave the paths of old.
