THE CHEERS OF TONADO

Warm morning brings the greatest joy,
To tell again the saddest ploy;
Of lips that have never but sung,
Peeping through clouds for something strong.

Away with all the vests of rest;
I am a guard and love my trade.
May hang on hills the night my health -
I watch the sky with every strength.

To speak of sleep, it baffles me.
I wake on snow, care not for fee,
When once again 'twill shake the lane;
The chorus tough that once brought pain.

To swim on forms of naked joys
And bang again the party glass
And weave the clutters of a fan -
I watch the sky - let me alone.

And there it stands - the vampire,
With looks that hatred do inspire
I'll sell again my shipment cheap
You wicked crook; old, wicked you!
