You were dead in trespass and sin,
On the path that you had once walked;
With such a corruption within,
Insulting others as you mocked.
You followed the course of the world,
Following the prince of the air;
As disobedience is hurled,
Whatever the Lord would declare.
The spirit works now in the sons,
The ones with immoral passions;
Desires of lustful puns,
While wearing raunchy fashions.
Their mind is like children of wrath,
Sort of like the rest of mankind;
Allowing them to take the path,
Fulfilling the passionate mind.
But God rich in mercy and grace,
Because of His compassionate love;
He is still willing to embrace,
And by forgiving us thereof.
Even though we had been once dead,
From the corrupted trespass;
We are given new life instead,
Accepting Christ if we confess.
Through Christ by grace you have been saved,
And have raised us up with the Lord;
Made pure of the sin that enslaved,
So, we can be in one accord.
For in the coming of the age,
Immeasurable wealth of grace;
No longer is death as a wage,
So that we can meet face to face.
Through faith by His grace you are saved,
And this is not of your doing;
It is the gift of God that has paved,
A holy highway in pursuing.
Not from the works that you could boast,
But through good works of Jesus Christ;
Assisted by the Holy Ghost,
Avoiding from being enticed.
