'' Uplifting ''
Another day another dollar,
Helps to make life sunny,
Forget about the poor in squalor,
They have no need for money.
Let them starve, let them rot,
In truth they won't be missed,
Don't give them a second thought,
Let their presence be dismissed.
What's their problem some will say,
They have no food or water,
Why the hell should others pay,
We'll just ignore their slaughter.
They're better dead the cynic cries,
They make no contribution,
Reality the sceptic denies,
Let them live in destitution.
Countless wars still bring on tears,
We say, lest we forget,
Yet millions have been dying for years,
But their plight we don't regret.
A scandal caused by famine and drought,
Yet tons of food are wasted,
Human intelligence is truly in doubt,
Dinners binned before being tasted?
A change is happening take great care,
Though of sympathy there is a dearth,
Those in power are not aware,
The meek shall inherit the Earth.
What goes around comes around,
When the planets poles start shifting,
The change my friends will be profound,
Those without will say,
‘' Uplifting ‘'
