Playboy and His Mistress

The playboy kept pursuing her
Asking if he could drop by
While she pretended not to know
He was that kind of guy.

But tenacity did pay off for him
When she in time agreed
Although she felt a tinge of guilt
To think he did succeed.

But he had no right to have her
And she no dibs on him
For what the two of them did plan
Was based on lustful whim.

And the fault was hardly his alone
It took them both to cheat
Yet, it was more than obvious
Who had the driver's seat.

Too soon, they did fall victim
When they engaged in sin
But because the rendezvous was short
Did choose to meet again.

And they didn't care one whit about
The ones who would be hurt
For their attitude was cavalier
While their nonchalance was curt.

But soon they sought forgiveness
When it proved too much to bear
And with God's help, they saw the need
To end their vile affair.

Yes, the playboy and his mistress
Found conviction in their way
Which led them to repent of all
Their sins of yesterday.
