Ellie  and  the  Elves

           Ellie  and  the  Elves

In  a  lovely  valley  lived  a  pretty  little  girl  named  Ellie,
Ellie  lived  in  a  cottage  with  her  mother  and  father  and
her  yellow  Canary  named  Crooner,  who  slept  on  the  window
ledge  where  he  sang  Ellie  to  sleep  each  night,  and
he  would  whistle  songs  with  the  birds  in  the  trees .
   Clipart
Then  he  quietly  flew  out  of  the  house,  up  the  side  of
the  mountain  he  soared,  when  suddenly  he  heard  little  Ellie
call,   seems  she  hadn't  been  asleep  at  all,  quickly  he  flew
down  the  mountain  where  she  sat  and  cried,  I  can't  climb
the   mountain,   it's  much  too  high,
 Clipart
Crooner  sang  out  to  his  friends   the  Elves,  come  carry  her  up   the
mountainside,   she  promised  not  to   tell  where  these  wee  people  lived
before  you  could  blink  an  eye  they  were  all  eating  rainbow  cakes  and
drinking  juice  that  sprang  up  out  of  a  purple  rock,   in  all  her  favorite  flavors,
Clipart
Crooner  whistled  a  happy  tune,  Father  Elf  played  drums  on  a  giant  toadstool
Mother  Elf  made  music  on  silky   threads  the  spiders  had  woven,
 Clipart
Fireflies   in  neon  colors   flitted  about,  giving  them  such  beautiful  light,  to  dance
and  sing  silly  songs,  till  the  night  was  most  gone,  Crooner  told  Ellie,
   it's  time  to  go  home,
 Clipart
One  by  one,  each  little  Elf  gave  Ellie  a  hug,  she  was
sad  to  say  goodbye,  she'd  had  such  fun,   don't  be  sad  they  all  chimed,  you're
welcome  to  come  back  another  night,  down  the  mountain  they  carried  her  in  a
flash,  and  off  to  sleep  little  Ellie  went,  dreaming  sweet  dreams  of  her  new  Elfin  Friends
