Happy Birthday
It doesn't seem that long ago when on this day I walked in winter's glow.
You were born to God's good earth, you would grow with quality and worth.
In the small hours of the night, I was captured by your light.
I held you near and sang a lullaby soft, yet, clear.
I witnessed your growth over the years and wiped away your tears.
Your laughter was contagious with warmth and cheer.
There came the day you left the nest and gave life your best.
Now your own Son sees your parenthood put to the test.
Your love and nurturing care follows him everywhere.
Your wisdom brings my heart to gentle rest.
Happy Birthday, may life be kind to you in many ways
May love grow within your heart throughout your days.
