Thoughts to Begin a Brand New Year
Sitting here in the glow of candle light, listening
to the rain softly falling.
Tonight is New Years Eve, never to be lived
again, only to try the best we can, each
and every minute we are allowed to be
who are inside and out.
Nothing changes around us, we are who
change! to make a difference in our life
growing with promise, love, light, and
hopefully peace to calm stormy seas.
We must never take anyone or anything
for granted, for your life is yours, and
can be taken away from you in a blink
of the eye.
Be happy and live in the moment, beware
of everything, all is new, passing much to
fast to be remembered if not aware, of all
you say, do, and keep dear to you.
You make your life the way you want it, and
each time we do harm to ourselves or another
we cheat our self of happiness that only love
can bring us, when we think good, helping
even with just a smile.
Control your thoughts through meditating
it will calm your mind of junk that should
not be taking your precious time.
Love yourself everyday, by hugging yourself
it will let your love flow freely to the surface
at all times.
Have no expectations, they will only cause
grief, and unwanted misery, no one needs.
Be happy what you have, material will
not bring you happiness.
You know yourself! have common sense, go
by your gut feeling, just be you, you'll
fine out by just being yourself, you will not
have to pretend anymore.
Go into the world and start your life
new, by giving yourself another chance
this New Year!
