Walkin on Air
Last Thoughts
Voted I did for our president,
believed he'd do his best
America's sleaze to circumvent,
corruption hence arrest.
Hope and confidence I thus ascribed,
his image honor lent;
yet, folly and nonsense he imbibed:
our country asunder rent!
Here I stand at oblivion's edge
my sojourn set to end,
land of the free that will never be:
who will weep or repent?
My soul is torn and deeply revulsed,
shame I cannot abide;
his words and actions have me repulsed:
I choose this suicide!
believed he'd do his best
America's sleaze to circumvent,
corruption hence arrest.
Hope and confidence I thus ascribed,
his image honor lent;
yet, folly and nonsense he imbibed:
our country asunder rent!
Here I stand at oblivion's edge
my sojourn set to end,
land of the free that will never be:
who will weep or repent?
My soul is torn and deeply revulsed,
shame I cannot abide;
his words and actions have me repulsed:
I choose this suicide!
