Life Is Like A River

"I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding."
- John O'Donohue

"Be like a river. Be open. Flow." – Julie Connor

Life is indeed like a river.
As the cold winds blow I shiver.
I used to be so sure,
Somehow; but not anymore.

I wish I could go wherever the river takes me.
Flowing, flowing, going suddenly free.
No one truly understands my pain.
I am totally different, you can see the stain.

Trying so hard to hold on,
To what I once had, now long gone.
Never to return again,
As I silently soak in the rain.

Flowing river take me down stream.
This is my wonderful dream.
Where I will end up, I don't know,
Right now I just want to flow, flow, go.

Life is indeed like a river.
I can't help but quiver.
Let me drift on and on.
Listen to the ripples in the river, my song.
