Imari

beauty in nature

she threw seeds
EVERYWHERE!
in the dirt,
on the concrete,
she was not discrete,
in letting the world know
she wanted a garden --
she tended to the weeds
and pruned the bushes
roses bloomed
but they were not,
the most cherished --
they were fragile
and she sought strength
not colors of blood
but that of
the gold of men
she waited and watered
patient as ever
for the slightest bloom
simply to capture
the beauty
of a single,
sunflower--
