I Did & Now I Learn

I Did & Now I Learn

At one time I was a school kid.
Went to school and acted a fool.
Didn't know why it bothered my teacher so much.
All I did was cut up and keep up a fuss.

Thought she was mean but she was actually keen.
Some of the old folks used to say: “One day you're going to reap what you have sown.”
Didn't really matter at the time. I thought I was grown. Thought I could make it on my own.

Now it's ten years later and guess what? I'm a teacher.
Tried to call my former teacher, but I could never reach her.
Wanted to tell her I was now the reaper.
