 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove

Hear my prayer, O Lord,

Give ear to my plea;

Not to be ignored,

So please answer me.

Enter not judgment,

This life before you;

Because this torment,

So hard to construe.

For my foe pursues,

And crushing my life;

Trying to confuse,

With toil and strife.

I sit in darkness,

As my spirit faints;

Struck by the starkness,

Tightening restraints.

My heart is appalled,

By the days of old;

Whenever I crawled,

And had felt so cold.

I must meditate,

All that You have done;

To alleviate,

What I have begun.

The work of Your hands,

Stretching mine to You;

I thirst in these lands,

My soul will pursue.

Do not hide from me,

For my spirit fails;

Give insight to see,

What fate that prevails.

For your steadfast love,

Will avoid the lust;

Let it flow thereof,

For in You I trust.

Because your name sake,

Will preserve my life;

Sheltered from the quake,

Stricken by the strife.
