Worried moon
There’s a downcast doleful moon tonight,
A little darker, not so bright,
Its pensive, anxious, nervous light,
Withdrawn, restrained, confused, uptight.
There’s a heavy heartbreak moon tonight,
Apologetic, waek, contrite,
No sweet caress, no lust to touch,
No lasting kiss, no ‘come on love’.
There’s a wistful worried moon tonight,
A slow decaying lonesome sight,
Your hand in mine, but not for long,
The moon knows all, it’s never wrong.
There’s a tearful tortured moon tonight,
The saddest moon to grace the skies,
No goodnight kiss, no can’t let go,
No running back, no ‘hold me close’.
There’s a mournful moody moon tonight,
A last time, go now, goodbye light,
A subdued glow, a moonlit street,
A last farewell to you and me.
