Awake, O sleeper,
Rise up from the dead;
True light is deeper,
From Jesus, be fed.
Christ will shine on you,
Careful how you live;
Be not sad and blue,
Since God will forgive.
Never be foolish,
Rather to be wise;
Never be selfish,
To find your demise.
Never walk cagey,
The same as the fools;
Think religiously,
And the golden rules.
The days are evil,
Wickedness abound;
Works of the devil,
Completely around.
Redeeming the time,
Follow not the crowd;
Who will commit crime,
Too boastful and loud.
Be understanding,
The Lord and His will;
He is commanding,
Wanting to instill.
Drink not too much wine,
Wherein is excess;
Rather be divine,
All that you express.
Speak to each other,
In spiritual songs;
Sing with your brother,
Where your heart belongs.
Always give your cheers,
To God the Father;
It will calm your fears,
That takes you farther.
Peace to each other,
Reverence for Christ;
Willing to offer,
To be sacrificed.
