      the love of Nature    3/4/19

I've journeyed back into the woods (would)
to find what has been lost over these past four decades;

The scenery seems lusher,
greener,
and
just plain more beautiful
than I recall when I ventured here as a wondering child;

As I feel what I cannot see
a sense of euphoria fills me with calm
and
covers me with love
and
consumes my soul with an abundance of compassion
for earth's continued physical thrashing
from the constant fracking,
to blasting,
and
blatant trashing;

Littering our home,
destroying what was created to keep us sheltered,
feed,
clothed,
and
protected;

But instead
free will has us or me mislead;

So as I stroll through the forest's mist,
Grey guerrillas's eyes glow in the distance
but I feel no sense of resistance
It ‘s almost as if they are inviting me to come chat and  visit,
So I go with it;

Once I entered to their presence
all signs of aggression
morph into smiles and positive gestures…
Boy I forgot how much I love nature…
