Devious

Hope Is Sometimes The Best Of All You've Got (definition poem)

Last Night

Crows...writing exercise in honor of April /National Poetry month

Words

Only The Choice To Be

When People Go

The Day You Left (Words From A Half-Remembered Dream)

Wake Wake Wake

It Is In The Rain

Dream Goblins Of The Night

Wake And Remember

Unwelcomed Like So Much Unfinished Business

In March (Finally, Spring 2016)

All For Algernon

Weak In The Knees

The Finisher's Song

Nothing's Sadder Than A Rose

Falling Leaf, Falling Man/Woman, Rising Star

So You Do (May 10, 2010 written for June 1987)

Its About Waking In The Middle Of The Night And Having To Write It All Down

If I Could Be The Sky...

It Feels Better To Be Unfinished (Wish-Unspoken, But With My Eyes)

Yes, You--There

With Words, I See A World I No Longer Fit In

Unknowing

Two Better Pasttimes. ( A Bit O' Rant)

All My Children ( CATS ARE PEOPLE TOO)

How I Think That About Every One...

In Layers

Old Hunters Of The Fall

Silent Endings

Only The Choice To Be

borrowing
that's what the poor do
ownership has its drawbacks
sometimes I'd relish
the responsibility
a house
a cat
a yard to plant a garden
a place to belong in

I'm more like the prairie
holes to fill
and wide open spaces
and the wind passes through me

gone here are the family farms
and sloughs
and buffalo
most of it belongs to a big silent entity

I feel the miles accumulated inside of me
I see them
when I glance at my reflection

if I could be real
settle
be a true Indian
with choices to wander
or stake a claim

today I see
the poor sometimes
only have the choice to be
or not
(what choice is this?)
