SLEEPLESS

SLEEPLESS

When all is said and done and you become the scene
holding crystal glasses of memory
You harbour every echo with images in between,
A cup of light, a brush of thought, a village green

The far winds whisper within twilight's dew,
Bringing ribbons of moonlight in its cinematic hue
You walk the electric streets of your own mirage
With life walking beside you, around you, in you

____________

The faceless noises of night are shadowed by the moon
As the pulse of darkness beats its own drum
The shadowy eyes of a creature, maybe a raccoon,
Flaunts its mystic arms when the owl begins to croon

____________

Sleep seems to evade you; it waits behind locked doors
The lids of your own thoughts
But you see a splash of light across the floors
A chalice of the sun, the kiss of tomorrow; You open the door?

Psalms 139 - verses 8,9, 10

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed
In Hell, behold, thou art there: If I take the wings of the
Morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even
There shall thy hand lead me and thou right hand shall hold
Me - - -
