"stranger things"

I am not sure what crevice of the planet
I was living on to not have heard of you but
once I sought out this notion called truth,
there you appeared. It was like I had
known you all along. But never really took
the time to get to know you. Beyond the
familiarity of soul, I learned that I actually
do know you but in all honesty
I know absolutely nothing about you.
That hurts ego.
Today, I am changing the lack
of aquaintance
I am changing the not knowing
I move closer in
I get a better look
who knew that it would only take
a deep gaze
into a welcoming mirror
and a simple hello,
it's nice to finally meet
you
