 Romantic Notions By Ivy Rose

The tall pine trees covered in powder-white snow
tower over the black slickness of an asphalt road
that runs through the archway of the branches.

I shiver against the frost of the white
upon my empty and frozen heart
as I go down this road leading to nowhere.

I don't know where I am headed;
but I hope one day that this road will end up
somewhere in a place sunny and warm.
