A flash of eyes An unexpected lightning bolt, A sudden glance, a fearsome jolt, A striking impact locked in time, A lasting dream, forever mine.
A love I know that cannot be, But I can dream, pretend that she, Has favoured me ... not true alas, This woman I can never have.
A twist of fate, a trick of sorts, A smile but all else out of court, A path that I can never take, A love too far, a love too late.
A love too late, but still I find, What e’re the hour she’s on my mind, No place to run, no place to hide, A victim of a flash of eyes.
