An Unopened Book
I would
If I could take your pain away;
I would.
Take your heartache make it mine; I would.
If I could take on all your trials; I would.
Just leave you with the lessons learned; I would.
Take away all the times you felt lonely; I would.
Leave all the times that were great; I would.
Take all the times you needed comfort yet found none; I would.
Leave all the times you were in a loving embrace; I would.
Cry all the tears that you have cried; I would.
Only leave the happiness in your life; I would.
Take all the times when you felt weak couldn't go on; I would.
Leave you only the moments when you were strong; I would.
We both know I can't do these things.
But I will do what I can do,
I will hold you when you're in pain, my presence my ease it some.
Be there in moments of heartache, to let you know you're loved.
Be you're companion when you feel lonely.
Embrace you whenever you're in need of comfort.
Wipe away your tears that fall from your face.
Be someone to lean on when you need strength.
I will tell you that I love you.
And by doing these acts for you; you'll know my love is true.
