Slithering Words

I can see your desirable need for touch...
To kiss... to open up and see...
But you are nowhere to be found.
Yet you beg... you urge... you plea.

I comprehend your awareness of empty,
And your eagerness for that loving embrace.
Only when you thirst you are present,
And you hunger for my face.

I inquire about your daily life,
And itch to appreciate more.
You scorn my softly spoken words,
As they descend... painfully to the floor.

They slither upon the wooden ground,
And cower to the corner of the wall.
Weeping... sobbing...howling,
For I have no control at all.
