Show Parade


Ammo boots high polished
Toe caps lustrously bright
A deep deep shine reflecting
The guardroom's spot light.

I stood  on show parade
In my best Battle Dress
Just back from the tailors
All immaculately pressed

My blancoed belt and gaiters
Had dazzlingly bright brass
This was one inspection I
Was very easily going to pass.

My belt and braced trousers
Had  razor sharp creases
And then that cruel Sarn't Major
Went and tore my world to pieces.

Was he very impressed
No, not one little bit
Sadly  he shook his head, and said,
Lad, you look like a pile of  @@@@
