The Backyard Of My Life

Pink Carnation

She walked in wearing a pink carnation
On a long black dress with a look in her eyes
Leading me through my imagination
Stepping into my dreams with a secret surprise
Strangers in the night a breath away from heaven

At a table set for two the moon magnificent and blue
Waiting for a sign from this old confidante of mine
Holding out a pink carnation that i picked for you
I thought i saw a silhouette when she said me too
It was a meeting of the minds as the cosmic wheel spins

Lost souls searching for someone to hold
Lonely hearts looking for a piece of pure gold
Breaking free from the chains
Till only love remains
Till only love remains

Enchanted by her beauty with a pink carnation in her hand
She speaks of forbidden feelings that we both understand
As violins play seductive strings candles burn down low
Ill always handle you with care don't ever let me go
Like ships in the night sailing of into sunset

Passion pours out tender is the touch
After being so deprived
We love each other a little too much

She was dancing in the dark in her ruby red shoes
With a pink carnation pinned in her long brown hair
Take me away from the place take me any where
We can be alone in this world made of stone
Like thieves in the night taking back the dawn

Lost souls searching for someone to hold
Lonely hearts looking for a piece of pure gold
Breaking free from the chains
Till only love remains
Till only love remains
Till only love remains
Till only love remains
