Sands of Time

Did he see the blue flame in the distant?
The night arrives, in the desert's skies.
The sand moves to the creeping life,
a man prays for his child and wife.
The blue flame lights the darkness and warms a chill within.
The haunting hour drifts through the dunes, slumber visits soon.
In due time the blazing sun will replace the chilling moon.
What mysteries he will face in this sandy twisted place?
He says one last prayer to feel Gods loving grace.
In the first light, the man has vanished without a trace.
The grain of sand has passed, in eternities hour glass...
No hint of crime, it is merely the call of the sands of time.
