A truthful witness will save lives, When true it delivers the soul; Honor for the body survives, Letting His Spirit in control. Anyone who would breathe out lies, Heart and mind is full of deceit; Working for Satan in disguise, Temptation causes them to cheat. If you have the fear of the Lord, You will have a strong confidence; His children are in one accord, And sheltered with a good defense. For having the fear of the Lord, You are near the fountain of life; The snares of death will be ignored, Avoiding the toils and strife. In a multitude of people, Will be the glory of the King; When they worship in His temple, By praising Him in song they sing. Without having any people, The prince of darkness is destroyed; No one to be a disciple, The power of light is enjoyed. Whoever is slow to anger, Will have a great understanding; Their problems will seem meager, As the stress is not demanding. For a tranquil heart is at peace, As it gives the flesh a new life; But hasty tempers will not cease, Giving fuel to toils and strife. Envy will make the bones to rot, Oppression will cause desire; An obsession to what is sought, Whatever it may require. Having wisdom will always rest, In giving you a peace-filled heart; Dealing wisely to do your best, From evil ways you can depart. Copyright © 2019 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
