My Lost Soul to Retrieve
I gave my heart back to the Lord
My lost soul to retrieve
Then made myself a list of things
I'm hoping to achieve.
I hope to keep this fire alive
That burns within my chest
And that I'll be more mindful of
How richly I am blessed.
I hope to let God's word inspire
Much deeper than before
That I will love its principles
And embrace them even more.
I hope to build and gird my trust
And know that when I pray
I'm asking for a closer walk
That I not go astray.
I hope to grow into the man
That I'm supposed to be
An example of what God can do
For the lost, including me.
Oh yes, the Lord did suffer me
My lost soul to retrieve
So, in His debt, I'll seek those things
