As to what shall we say,
We continue to sin;
Grace bursts if we obey,
As confessions begin.
For how can we who died,
To sin still live in it;
How we cheat and have lied,
Through the evil merit.
Do you not know us all,
Been baptized into Christ;
Are rescued from the fall,
When you have been enticed.
We are buried with Him,
When baptized into death;
That gives spiritual vim,
For life after last breath.
Christ was raised from the dead,
Glorifies the Father;
Newness in life instead,
That takes us much further.
We have been united,
And planted together;
That makes God delighted,
When His children gather.
The old is crucified,
As sinful bodies might;
The new is glorified,
With the purified light.
Leaving the sin behind,
And no longer enslaved;
With a cleansed heart and mind,
Having decrees engraved.
For nobody who has died,
Has been set free from sin;
And Jesus is your guide,
A new life to begin.
If we have died with Christ,
We believe that we live;
The old was sacrificed,
When we asked to forgive.
So, then you must conceive,
For being dead in sin;
But to live to believe,
If Jesus lives within.
