ME AND YOU MAKE TWO
If I am I, and you are you; There are definitely differences between us two. If I stand here, and you stand there; Clearly impossible to breathe the same air. As I have thoughts, you, also have some; Why the pretentiousness to be one. I respect your yang, you accept my yin. Why would we want any other thing? My hand adjoined to your hand totality in sum; A number greater than and definitely not equal to one. I sought out a person wholehearted, mentally furnished and full of life. I have no need for one of self partiality offering a bit of this and a speck of that... thus, utterly unsufficent. Us being complete and of separate forms, have our own individual space. One physically carrying around the other is humanly impossible, and an ethical disgrace. Firmly, we must stand, at the knowledge of note at hand... I, being I and you being you; can never be "One" betwixt us two. for I becoming you or you becoming me; will only cause double indignity. To live our lives together, a notable affair; is imperatively me being here, and for you reflectively there. __________________________________ Copyright © Niyna DeSangre 09212018 Vote for this poem
