Land Appears

Weeks of the sea the ship rides the wave
The crew is silent brave
The rolling waters around no sight of soil
The crew live in haunting toil
The tropic sun flames and boils
Madness teeters with each passing hour
A sturdy mind loses power
A sudden sight of distant shores appear
The light of hope calms the fears as land draws near
Salty tears begin to clear, the white sand call, before nightfall
The anchor is set, the ship is still, the crew now regains their will
A paradise greets the weary sailor at last as haunting waters have let them past
The comforts of home soothed them at last
Is this a dream
Do not awaken me, let me sleep, in tormented times such Dreams I keep
