The Backyard Of My Life

Out Of Sight Out Of Mind

I don't believe anymore
I've had enough of your dirty little lies
I've seen too many demons behind your angel eyes
I don't care anymore what you think of me
You tried to keep me a prisoner but hallelujah am free
I tried to photograph something that the naked eye can t see
I picked myself up from down on the floor
You wont fool me again
I don't believe you anymore

I've lost faith in all your phony promises
Pretending that there's a pretty potion to drink
Your always the last to know
You never notice yourself before you start to sink
There once was a time when she would speak
I would hang on every word
I wanted to believe its a beautiful world
With silhouettes and shadows dancing in the dark
When we where young
Only love could break our hearts
Only love could break our hearts

Now that i find when your out of my mind
I don't hurt anymore
Why was i so naive
Wanted so badly to believe
I would keep knocking at your cellar door
On a white winter night in the red light
Down sixty second street in Amsterdam
She said i don't trust nobody and
You don't give a damn
Only me and you knew where it was at
When we walked down the long cold canal
On the cobbled streets in early October
She had me hypnotized then i realized
The long gone glory days are over

So go away from my window
Burn back and fade in to the night
Its goodbye yellow brick road
You kept me blinded by the light
Shame on you am now soaring like an eagle
Trying to touch the sky
Do something that's never been done
While am shooting for the sun
Working on a mystery
I don't need no guru to know you ain't right for me
Everybody knows a girl like you is trouble
So i will try to watch my step
While you set me up to fall
There's a hole in the wall
Now i see what you see
Now i know what you know
You made me think twice as i leave i slam the door
Its no use begging and pleading
I don't believe you anymore
You promise me the earth but i wind up
Back where i was before
I don't believe you anymore
I don't believe you anymore
I don't believe you anymore
