God is our refuge and strength,
Very present help in trouble;
Persevering at any length,
Rescuing me from the rubble.
So therefore, we shall not fear,
Even though that the earth gives way;
His strength helps us to persevere,
Resisting temptation to stray.
Even though the mountains are moved,
Deep into the heart of the sea;
Waters roar and foam are behooved,
The mountains tremble for mercy.
There is a river that has streams,
And makes glad the city of God;
The shining of His glory gleams,
Brighter as we honor and laud.
The holy dwelling the Most High,
God is within the midst of her;
As His presence will glorify
As the morning dawns to confer.
The nations rage, kingdoms totter,
He speaks His voice as the earth fades;
And causing boiling hot water,
As the non-believer dissuades.
The Lord of Hosts with us always,
God of Jacob our fortress;
Throughout all our nights and days,
Comforts us in times of distress.
Come behold the works of the Lord,
How He has brought rage on the earth;
Because the people have ignored,
About their God and His true worth.
He makes wars cease to end the world,
Breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
While the meteors are hurled,
Destruction from fire severe.
Be still and know that He is God,
To be exalted by nations;
Exalted to honor and laud,
For establishing relations.
For the Lord of Hosts is with us,
The God of Jacob a fortress;
Under His wing sheltered as thus,
Our refuge in times of distress.
