Poetic Verses
The Child We Never Knew
We lost you many years ago
The day the angels came
And though you were a coming joy
You never got a name.
For you had left abruptly
Too soon you did depart
Which shook me to my very soul
And broke your mother's heart.
Some attribute Mother Nature
While others say God's will
That you, our unborn child was lost
The shock of it surreal.
Though we often think about you
And the life that could have been
We believe God called you home before
Your days were to begin.
Yes, we lost you many years ago
When the angels came for you
But we hope someday you'll cease to be
The child we never knew.
The day the angels came
And though you were a coming joy
You never got a name.
For you had left abruptly
Too soon you did depart
Which shook me to my very soul
And broke your mother's heart.
