'' That Is, The Reason You Write ''

Writing's exciting,
Inviting inciting,
It tells lies as well as the truth,
Biting uniting,
Slighting and fighting,
It's uplifting as well as uncouth.

Fiction in diction,
Contradiction and friction,
These messages all come from the heart,
Affliction and restriction,
My prediction addiction,
Now tell me where do I start.

Begin to sin,
Within can't win,
Don't try to make others bleed,
Too thin therein,
Akin to a bin,
To shock there's really no need.

Take note don't gloat,
To float your boat,
Try to get your readers onside,
Devote stay afloat,
Don't bloat what's wrote,
From your audience don't ever hide.

With fakes high stakes,
Spirit shakes then breaks,
There are those who think, analytic,
Snakes! skin flakes,
Headaches earthquakes,
Don't ever be afraid of the critic.

Each cue you view,
Revue then pursue,
You'll know when you get the bite,
See through the dew,
It's true this is you,
