wandering the rolling hills ...(written for his model)

an emotional removal
the limp daisy dying on the mantel
outside the sky fills with white
while the horizon line flattens
bleak are the clouds
piling up in the distance

looking into the face
in the painting
he sees
the raven haired girl
no longer here--
moved onto a different plain

touching her
with his mind
the memories soon are  drifting
like the snow
gathering outside
he is
walking with her again
hand in hand
wandering the rolling hills
